Madden NFL 27 — guide
Madden NFL 27 franchise mode guide
A weekly front-office routine for franchise players: scout the opponent, check current ratings, run your own playbook, and walk into every game with a printed plan.
1. Scout this week's opponent
Start with the other club's offensive and defensive identity and how to attack them. Note what their offense leans on, run or pass, and what their defense calls most, by coverage family and how often they blitz.
2. Check personnel from current ratings
Look up their top players on each side, their impact players, and the weakest starter at each spot you want to target. Ratings change through the season, so check them each week, not once a year.
3. Build your custom playbook on purpose
A Madden custom playbook holds up to 750 plays, 15 formations, 72 sets and 75 plays per set. Start from one team's book, cut what you won't call, and add the plays you need from other teams' books. Keep a record of what's in it so your plan matches the plays you actually have.
4. Set My Gameplan stars once, then tune weekly
Madden pre-rates every play, and the stars decide what it suggests in each situation. Set them once for your book: raise the plays that fit each down and distance, and drop the rest to 1 star. Each week, adjust a few stars for the opponent's coverage and blitz habits.
5. Set four audibles per set
Madden gives each formation set four audibles, and each one must come from that set. A simple rule makes them easy to remember: a run, a quick pass, a shot play and a screen on offense. On defense, set a zone, a man coverage, a safe blitz and a heavy blitz.
6. Print a call sheet for the game
Put your calls on one sheet, grouped by situation, with the opponent's tendencies noted beside them. With the plan in your hand, you call plays faster and stick to it on the big downs.
Do all of this in one place
The Franchise Front Office Madden NFL 27 module has scouting for all 32 clubs, personnel from current player ratings, printable call sheets, a custom playbook builder, My Gameplan star setup and audible picks. Workbooks come in Excel and Google Sheets.
