Madden NFL 27 — guide
Madden NFL 27 fantasy draft guide
A fantasy draft starts a franchise from zero. Walk in with a board ranked by position, dev trait and rating, and make every pick from a plan instead of a scroll.
1. Build your board before the draft starts
A fantasy draft puts every player in the league up for grabs. Don't scroll the in-game list on the clock. Rank your targets by position ahead of time, so each pick is a quick look at your board, not a fresh search.
2. Rank by position, not just overall
Filter the whole league by one position at a time and sort by OVR. That shows how deep each position runs, and where the drop-off sits after the top few names. Take the positions with a steep drop-off early, and wait on the deep ones.
3. Use dev traits to separate close players
When two players at a position are close in OVR, the dev trait is often the tiebreaker for a long save. Filter by dev trait to see who is set to grow, not just who rates highest today.
4. Look past OVR to the attributes and archetype
Overall rating is a summary. Open a player to see the full attribute breakdown and archetype, and check that they fit how you plan to play. A lower OVR player with the right speed, coverage or blocking ratings can be the better pick for your scheme.
5. Set a rating floor to find value later
In the later rounds, set a minimum OVR and filter by the positions you still need. What's left over that line is your value pool, so you can fill out the depth chart without guessing.
6. Check ratings again once the season starts
Ratings move through the season. Go back to your roster each week and check who is rising and falling, so your depth chart and your next moves follow the current numbers.
Build your board in one place
The Franchise Front Office Madden NFL 27 module includes a league-wide player ratings browser: search every player, filter by team, position, dev trait and minimum OVR, and open any player for their archetype, full attributes and rating history. Workbooks come in Excel and Google Sheets.
